Rifle Cultists are the only small-sized fourth-era archers in BattleForge. Their low price and attack make them a good ranged damage dealer at the last era. However, since they're small, they will be easily outclassed if there are a lot of large and extra-large sized creatures who can walk through them and simply knock them around.
The Dark Grenade ability is a nice and inexpensive mass damage spell-like ability. It is capable of friendly fire, but it has a decent range. In PvE, it is often possible to launch the attack over enemy fortifications to instantly take out towers, followed by a full-force attack. Also it can be used to attack grouped squadrons of flying units, few of which have the life points to survive big attacks like this.
Due to its very low cost for a fourth-era unit, combined with gifted Offering it makes for the most power effective combo. Restoring charge of fourth-era cards for mere 125 power cost, 115 with Offering U3.

Activate to charge a dark sphere that explodes after having been fed with 24 shots dealing 2400 damage to hostile and friendly entities in a 20m radius around its target, up to 3600 in total. Knocks back small and medium units. Reusable every 20 seconds.
