Master Archers is a basic First Era Frost archer. They are the only of the four affinities' basic archers with a S Attack, which gives them 50% more damage against any archer squads, all of them S Creatures, whatever their orb level. Other affinities have to wait for second era for S counter archers such as Darkelf Assassins. So, even though they start the weakest without upgrades, and are tied for weakest fully upgraded damage per second of the basic archers, the same as Forsaken, they can outdamage Forsaken, and even Sunstriders, and have higher health too. That said, their S damage type also means they cannot be used as a M Creature counter as Sunstriders and Forsaken can, which makes them less useful should the opponent get to tier 2 first. They start with 2.5 Damage Per Second, and at upgrade 3 they have 60% more damage, four damage per second or 480 as listed on the card.
- Every 2 seconds, unit fires bolts at enemies that deal 5 damage.
Master Archers and their Northguards allies are countered by small knockback units like Frost Mage. However, if the Archers player is able to field a force of more Master Archers than the opposing player can field Frost Mages (in part because of the Frost Mages' higher cost), then the Archers will be able to flank the Frostmages and outdamage them. It must be said that this is a rare occurence, however, as there is only 10 power difference between them. A force of Master Archers/Northguards costing 300 power only outnumbers a force of Frost Mages costing 300 power by one unit.
